I have been working in Information Technology since 2000, and have been focused specifically on networking and networking adjacent technologies as of 2008. At this point in my career I have experience deploying everything from prosumer grade access points to enterprise grade firewalls and network access control appliances. Throughout my career I have noticed that networking is generally regarded as some sort of crazy voodoo based glue that holds the servers together.

This is not true.

Networking follows a very logical path, similar to how coding and scripting works. It’s algorithmic like coding, but it doesn’t have the same breadth of application. It just needs to get information from one location to another. That in my mind makes it simplest of the I.T. disciplines.
